Student Position: Indigenous Geography Research Assistant for Native-Land
Please send an email to [email protected] if you are interested in this position.
Native-Land.ca is dedicated to educating and spreading knowledge about Indigenous territories. We are growing as people begin to understand the importance of the heritage of the land they live on.
I’m Victor Temprano, the developer of the site, and I have been doing this work because it matters. It would be great for me to be able to focus on organizational and logistic issues with Native Land. I’m searching for someone to help categorize and strengthen the territory, language, and treaty sources and the way that we are dealing with sources around the site. People use this site as a resource all the time and we need a way to responsibly show where our information is coming from.
This position would involve going back over past communications, verifying territory maps and making all of Native Land’s map creation processes more public and transparent. I will be creating individual nation/language/treaty pages, and you will be charged with keeping them relatively up-to-date.
This would be full time, 30 hours per week for 8 weeks. I will train the ideal candidate to the specifics of the tech we use at Native Land.
