Since 2021, Wangan & Jagalingou Cultural Custodians have maintained a permanent ceremonial presence at Waddananggu, opposite Adani’s Carmichael coal mine, keeping the sacred fire burning to defend their Country and culture. The mine threatens the Doongmabulla Springs - a sacred site and unique desert oasis - with irreversible damage, and W&J continue to stand their ground through ceremony, legal action, and cultural continuity.
